VCI Faculty Upgrades Public Speaking and Business Communication Skills

Valencia City, Bukidnon – Faculty members of Valencia Colleges (Bukidnon), Inc. honed their public speaking and business communication skills during an in-service training held on July 15, 2024, at the UNO Hotel in Valencia City.

The in-service training session, “Public Speaking and Business Communication Skills for Faculty Competence,” was conducted by international educator Dr. Gianne RV Antonio, a well-respected expert in the field. Dr. Antonio taught the participants valuable strategies and techniques to improve communication effectiveness in classroom settings and professional interactions.

VCI recognizes the importance of effective communication for its faculty members. Strong communication skills allow educators to convey information to students, fostering a more engaging and productive learning environment. In the business aspect of running a college, clear communication is also essential for building strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.


This in-service training delved into specific areas to enhance faculty communication. Dr. Antonio highlighted the basic Toastmasters strategies, providing participants with practical tools to improve theirpublic speaking delivery, organization, and confidence. Additionally, the training emphasized the importance of correspondence etiquette, equipping faculty with the skills to craft clear, professional, and effective communication in written formats, especially in multimedia channels. School administrators graced the training session, actively participating alongside the faculty members. Director Merlinda Buno, Atty. GraceIsanor Giduqiuo-Larona and Dr. Isaias Sealza demonstrated the school’s commitment to providing professional development opportunities for its entire staff.
